Random time wasters

According to a fanfic I am currently reading, Clark is happy that Whitney and Lana are married, and Lex "intend[s] to drill him Clark thoroughly at the earliest convenience."

My mind lives in the gutter. No. My mind aspires to the gutter, for it is way above my head.

On the way to work today, while standing in the subway for the all of one stop I am on the subway, I saw an ad for a self-storage space. The copy said, "My boyfriend's artwork. Vinyl Records. Old Chemistry set." The picture? A handsome African-American *man* in scrubs.

:) I love my city.

The tri-deli sub (roast beef, turkey and "Italian cured veal" with cranberry dressing on whole wheat baguette) I bought at Subsational, a kosher sub shop, was to *die* for. I'm guessing it was fake prosciutto, but as I've never had real prosciutto, I have no idea how it compared. Oh, the lost opportunities pre-keeping kosher!

According to another truly bad piece of fanfic, btw, Lex Luthor (or maybe Luther) was raised empiracly. The Kents, however, raised a "big hunk of boyish wonderful." Lex told Jonathon (sic) that, himself.

On another note - I have a Smallville future fic fermenting now. And I'd like to create this picture, if the story allows me:

Lex being sworn in as president on the Kent family Bible, held in Clark's hands.

(Note: it's traditional for the First Lady to hold the Bible during inaugauration.)

Well, it would have to be Lex as president, what with the whole Clark wasn't born in the US thing.

Give it 40 years.

Nod about Clark, although I think that "Clark Kent" was officially born in the US, according to his fake adoption records.

As for 40 years from now - probably. Except that Lex is president *now* in the current canon (and on 9/11, *before* the debut of Smallville, and Lex's subsequent rehabilitation in my head, I found myself *jealous* of them. Yes, I'd rather have a supervillain than Bush. Go figure.) *and* the series has also predicted that Lex will be in the White House.

And I kind of like the idea that Lex would date Clark at the beginning of his political career, and quite openly, so that when he aspires to higher office, it's non-news.

And then we could get this line. "I am a US Senator, but when I wished to marry the person I loved, I had to travel out of my own country to do so. This is wrong."

Well, I think it has something to do with the fact that Lex is a very competent supervillian. While he is indeed, rather evil, he is not dumb.

I trust he could easily handle what is going on.

I suspect that if Lex was beginning his political career now, and not really making a big deal either way about dating another guy. It wouldn't hurt, especially for a local office where people know him.

By the time Lex would be a senator, it would be old news.

I do advise he waits till Clark is out of High School though. Because the underage thing would be an issue.

Oh, yes.

Which is why the story will begin in about ten years, and will also deal with the ramifications of Superman. And Lex's supervillainy. And. Schmoop.

Re: Smallville Fic

I so want a happy ending. I want the ending I described above. I want Lex on the side of light, and Clark able to save the world in the morning, write about in the afternoon, and sleep with the President in the evening. :)

But that's not up to me.

Glares at the boys.

According to another truly bad piece of fanfic, btw, Lex Luthor (or maybe Luther) was raised empiracly.

I keep getting this vision of a Smallville/Prairie Home Companion crossover fic, starring Lex Lutheran....
