Mama Deb

progress report

My counters are covered in aluminum foil. I have poured boiling water over my sink. My stovetop is covered in aluminum foil. My perishable groceries have been put away. I have taken out my Pesach pots and pans and utensils. Therefore, I can now cook.

So. I cooked. I have a huge - 16 liter - stockpot now almost filled with chicken bones, carrots, onions, celery, parsley, parsnips, a turnip, bay leaves and dill. And water. I have a much smaller pot with two loaves of gefilte fish, carrots, onions and celery. And water. I have a big stone cooker filled with meat, canned tomatoes and onions in the oven.

When I feel a bit more rested, I'll sweep and wash the floor. Then my kitchen will be pesadich.

After that, I will clear off my dining room table and put on the pads and tablecloth and a sheet of plastic, and it will be pesadich. I will do bedikat chometz. Tomorrow or tonight, I will vacuum and get rid of the last of the chometz and change the bag.

And all that will be left is tomorrow's cooking. Turkey. Stuffing. Broccoli to be served cold. Matza balls.
