Mama Deb

And a present for me!

No, it's not my birthday.

But I got another new pda today. The last replacement PDA I got, about a month or so ago, was a reconditioned one with a digitizer that was just slightly wonky in the most annoying possible ways, plus seemed to have battery problems. I sent it back, and he tested it and (I'm sure you've all guessed this) said there were no problems, but offered me my money back. I took the offer. The same day, Jonathan bid on another Tungsten C - this one by someone who said it had just sat on his desk - he barely used it.

He got the device for less money than the first used one cost and it arrived today.

And it's *clearly* barely used. Tungsten Cs scratch and ding very easily - my own had a crack across one button. This is *pristine*. The cover crackles when I fold it back. What it seems like is that this guy realized he had this expensive toy not doing anything and so sold it. The digitizer is not wonky, and the battery seems to work. I basically have a brand-new machine.

I'm going to have to go back to my fanfic and reinstall them, since we've purchased a new computer since then, and while we have the old harddrive, it's a little complex, but I'll do it story by story over the next few weeks.

I felt utterly uninspired about dinner tonight when I went shopping, so...

I took several cloves of fresh garlic, grated them on my microplane (microplanes are amazingly useful) and mixed the grated garlic with olive oil. This I spread very lightly under the skin of my normal chicken-in-eighths and put in a 450F oven.

My house smells *amazing*.

Otherwise - potato kugel and stringbeans.
