I got there a tad late, but Judith showed up a bit later so it was okay. I got to use some of my newly learned improvements for the 24 movements and that was cool. And we did the kicks! We haven't done the kicks in a long time.
My kicks are getting higher. Not Rockette high, by any means, but higher.
Then we did some one on one and ended with the free fighting. Free fighting has become my favorite thing. At one point, after I'd stubbed my toe on the mat, I did a perfect back roll purely on instinct. Then Judith did a gorgeous series of front rolls.
This time it was Riki's turn. And she showed up halfway through with her bicycle, only intending to say "hi". And she ended up putting on a borrowed uniform and belt and working out, just as I was doing that series of rolls and falls.
We did free-self-defense techniques - one grabs a body part or piece of clothing, the other reponds with a reflex kick and a technique.
Then more free fighting. And at one point, I grabbed her leg as she kicked me and nearly flipped her.
Apparently, that's black belt. Except that's also instinct. Again. Meanwhile, Riki is very creative with her attacks. I keep firmly on the ground, as befits the earth fighter I am.
Sunday Improvement Class
This time wasn't so good. I'm very tight and sore, and the twelve minutes of running/walking knocked me out. However, I did the movements well enough when my turn came. And I had a lot of problems for the relatively simple technique Master Eric showed. I couldn't concentrate. :(
Well, there's always next week.
