To the young men standing in front of my office:

If I can hear the music you're playing through a closed door that usually keeps the traffic noises of a busy shopping street at bay so loud and clear, you're playing it MUCH TOO LOUD.

And one of them just walked in - I'd say high school age. To say that one of our window ads was spelled wrong. And when I suggested that the radio was might be too loud, he said, "I just got new batteries. I love my radio." But he took the suggestion.

These are the kids who'll be taking care of us when we are old.

But see, that's okay. Because we'll all be deaf and we'll need the radio cranked up to hear it. *g*

My take is that his statement about loving his radio was his version of an apology (it at least was an explanation). The fact that he then turned it down showed that he wasn't too irked that someone else didn't share his radio love.
He actually sounds like an okay kid.
