The burners are working just fine, though, so I just put the chicken in a dutch oven on top of the stove. I've done this before, but it's very frustrating - Shabbat comes in at 8:11. It should be cooked by then. I hope so, or we'll be begging meals off of friends.
And I'm upset over other things that I don't want to talk about here - vacation plans, mostly. And I have a raging headache.
ETA: headache still with me, but after a half-hour's cooking, my chicken looks and smells almost done. Which means that we will have dinner and lunch. And if it's stewed rather than baked - well, I'd flavored it with curry anyway, and stewing works with curry.
