Mama Deb [userpic]

Finally watched the finale of Heroes again, this time with jonbaker, who hadn't had the chance until now.

Cried just as hard.

I need a Heroes icon.

Spoilers in comments.

I have it on DVR to watch again when ME's away, but I don't think I'm going to be as impressed as you were. The fact is that the ending, while emotionally satisfying, seems to me to be an idiot plot. SPOILERING SPOILER and fixing him later has been clearly established to work, that fact is known to sufficient people present on the scene, and it is a better solution from all perspectives.

It wasn't just the ending, although Nathan *listening* to Claire and doing what he did was enough.

It was seeing the characters being heroes as opposed to Heroes - Ando showing what bravery was (including being willing to die if it meant Sylar's death), Claire aiming a gun at her uncle with tears in her eyes, Mohinder stopping to help Parkman - even from last week, DL taking a bullet, and then making Nikki whole. Nikki helping someone *other* than her family. Molly, scared and sick, still finding the bogeyman.

That's why I cried. It was immensely powerful because it wasn't the superpowers that made them heroes.

Another insight from a friend on Nathan, his mom, and Claire.

I was very fond of Ando, and I thought he was great in the last few episodes.
