Mama Deb [userpic]

Sarah Palin is five months younger than I am. She's younger, by a month, than Michelle Obama.

I feel OLD.

Guru Maharaj Ji was an international cult leader at the age of 16.

Not the same thing at all. Henry VIII was king at seventeen.

We can't all be Tensin Gyatso

Tenzin Gyatso was was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso, at the age of two.

I turned 48 in July; Obama is a year younger than me. Let's be old together, Deb.

If I live to be a crone, I'm going to make it very hip to be a crone.

Re: We can't all be Tensin Gyatso

As I said. It's a milestone.

Funny. Obama isn't much younger than Bill Clinton was when he was elected. But I was. :)

Re: We can't all be Tensin Gyatso

I was 32 when Bill was elected. Seems like another life.

They're both nearly `15 years younger than I am.

I don't feel any older than I did last week, but I do feel a certain joyous pride that the torch is being passed on to a new generation.

I just hope my generation is ready for it. He's like me - in between the boomers and the Xers. Betwist and between.

I think there are two things that make you feel old, being the same as the president, and being the same age as your pulpit rabbi or equivalent spiritual advisor.

I've still got some time on both counts. With any luck, this will be the case for eight years on the former, at least.

We weren't that much younger than our old rabbi in Park Slope. Current rabbi is a grandfather (but in one respect, I'm older. He leaves the shul during yizkor - and may he continue to do so for a long time. I have to stay.)

Yiskor is a bad indicator, since I've stayed since I was 4.

I felt old when joan_not_jaon became a grandma.

Yeah. I can see that. :)

I feel your pain. For the 1st time, both the candidate for president whom I will be voting for and my current state governor are younger than me.

Not so long ago she was on the city council of a town of about 8,000 people.

I'm on the council of a town of about 8,000 people--I do NOT think that I'm ready to be VP!
