Now that I have a code and all...

Comments

I got an error message that the URL wasn't found when I tried the link.

fixed. Thank you.

You need an .org ending in your URL.

How/where did you get a code from? I am interested in trying it out...

Friend of mine (same friend who gave me my initial lj code) gave it to me.

You can use your lj OpenId to try it out - that's what I did.

you'd be penmage.livejournal.com

I don't have an OpenID. If you ever get an invite code, please think of me? Thanks.

Because you have an LJ account, you should have an OpenID - it would be spiderine.livejournal.com. Doesn't that work?

Oooh! Thanks! How do I log in, then?

Up on the top of the Dreamwidth main page, there's a link that says "Log in with Open-ID" and you'll do that there. If you enter and verify your email address, you'll also get comment replies mailed to you.

Thank you! I did it! Yay!

Your LJ account gives you one - spiderine.livejournal.com

But. As soon as I get codes, I'll get you one.

Edit: I see someone else got there first. YAY!

I've signed in with my OpenID (whooda thunk I have one?! 0_0) -- that gives me an account? I want to make sure to namesquat spiderine if nothing else...

From what I understand, it does and it doesn't. You can create a reading list and get access to people's flocked posts if they let you and the comments stuff, but you can't post your own posts. I'm not sure if getting an OpenID thing name squats for you or not.

So far as I can tell, it doesn't. One of the reasons I wanted a code ASAP is that, apparently, I am not the only MamaDeb out there. Which is why Google and Twitter are mamadeb1963.

What she said. You can poke around and read stuff, and post comments.

If you find yourself with spare codes, I'm interested.
