Oh, goodness.

Mama, in celebration of his life, I want to say to you:

It's you I like,
It's not the things you wear,
It's not the way you do your hair--
But it's you I like

Thanks for posting the link. I called my dad and read bits to him.

*sniff*

That was really great. I didn't think I'd cry at all, I'm a big person, an adult, I don't cry at reading obits or anything, but I'm sniffling and my eyes are watering, and I was sad when he died and I'm sad that he's gone. I used to live right next to Pittsburg, and we watched his show religiously. My cousin, who lived in Pittsburg, was on his show once, playing guitar. I saw a snippet maybe five years ago, about how something was being mass-produced... something new, with technology that wasn't there when I was watching the show, and I was glad that he was still at it, still making a difference and keeping us, the children, in amazement and interest in what was going on in the world, the important question of "how?", never losing the sense of wonderful joy from learning.

I miss Mister Rogers, and Sesame Street... ER and West Wing don't compare. I know they're still on, but... I'm sure you know what I mean.
